Today began with worship at St Jean Eglise Lutherienne. Although we understood little of the language, the common liturgy carried us and familiar hymn tunes had us singing along. As much as it was a blessing to worship with new friends, it was an even greater reminder of the faithfulness and patience of our new arrivals back at St Paul's in Shepparton who show up week after week even when English is as foreign to them as French is to me!
Following the service we were welcomed to morning tea where we were served red wine...now that's how you do morning tea! We were also invited back tomorrow to help make Christmas cookies to be sold after service next week. We are planning on being in the Louvre tomorrow, so we'll have to see how we go.
For lunch we decided to pick up some tasty treats from a local market street - complete with organ grinder and street food. We gathered a corn fed roast chicken, gratin potatoes, ratatouille and headed back to our apartment for a lovely Sunday lunch.
In the arvo the girls and I jumped on the metro in search of some more appropriate winter wear. Stopped off at the Arc de Triomphe and then tried our luck with the shops on the Champs Elysses. It seems every other person in Paris decided to get along today as well! Not much success with the clothes but a great afternoon out.
Only a couple of days left in Paris. We're very much feeling at home here now and will be sad to leave, but making the most of each day.
